Asian Cricket Council officially announce today that Asia cup 2020 is going to be postponed that was scheduled for September 2020. According to ACC these changes were made because of the pandemic situation of the World and some restrictions on traveling, Health issues and to maintain social distancing and countries quarantine.
Observing the above factors ACC announced to postpone the Asia Cup. As it is a responsibility of ACC to conduct the tournament in a responsible manner on their first priority, therefore, Asia Cup is going to be held in 2021. The Asian cricket council is now currently working to secure June 2021 tournaments. Pakistan cricket council exchanged the hosting rights with Sri Lanka Cricket Board.
Therefore it is clear that SLC can host the Asia cup 2021 and PCB can host the Asia Cup 2021 said by the ACC.
Ganguly also shared his views about the Asia cup and announced in front of media that Asia cup is canceled. He also said in his birthday ceremony on Wednesday that if the T20 world cup is also canceled then we will organize our IPL as cricket is very important for Indian cricket and we will try our best to host this tournament in India. He said that maybe we can hear the cancellation news of the T20 World Cup soon but it is tough.
