Several schools were delayed or close following severe storms in the area.
It has been raining since Friday morning, much needed many relief people have started cleaning up on Thursday severe weather. Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools will operate two hours late on Friday, along with several other schools.
Schools are soon dismissed in anticipation of the hot weather.
Students Classes were dismissed early Thursday in several school districts in the area. because the storm caused great storms in the region.
Charlotte- Mecklenburg Schools did not dismiss classes during the height of the storm because authorities say parents and students will be more secure in school buildings.
Many of the district representatives contacted by the Education Reporter Elsa Gillis said they were already monitoring the situation and that the decision was at the top of student safety.
In many cases, students were told to provide shelter in the event of a hurricane.
Officials admit they know the decision can be difficult for families.
He also said the call to dismiss classes is not easy because the weather changes so quickly.
Hickory Public School told Gillis they dismissed early after reports from city officials that roads were closing, and they wanted to make sure everybody could get home safely.
However, they didn’t expect the closure to happen so early in the day.
