Uses of Atrovent Nasal Spray

Indications
For treating rhinitis or allergic reactions, Atrovent Nasal Spray is prescribed for children above 5 years and adults. This gives immediate relief from the symptoms.
Dosage and administration
The nasal spray usually is prescribed to be used in dosage of 2 sprays four times each day in adults and children above 12 years.
The physical appearance of the bottle
The ATROVENT Nasal Spray comes in an HDPE bottle, a metered container. The dust cap is provided to keep it safe and avoid the accidental discharge of the spray. Usually, a 10 days therapy is recommended, including two sprays per nostril.

- It should be tightly closed and stored at 25 C. The spray should be kept out of the reach of children.

Warnings & Precautions
Some hypersensitive reactions take place after taking the Atrovent nasal spray. The serious side effects may include:

Patient’s Instructions for Use
Firstly, Atrovent nasal spray dosage should not be altered, nor the hole should be changed.
- The plastic dust cap should be detached from the green safety clip in order to open.
- The nasal spray pump should be primed by holding the bottle with the thumb at the base and index and middle finger on the white surface. The bottle should be kept away from the eyes. Then, the pump can be used by pressing the thumb seven times now that it is primed.
- Before using the spray, clean the nostrils gently.
- Close a nostril and insert the nasal spray tip into another nostril.
- Press with your thumb at the base, sniff deeply, and breathe out through your mouth.
- After spraying, tilt your head backward for a few seconds so that it spreads to the back of the nose.
- Repeat the process in both the nostrils, two sprays per nostril.
- Now the dust cap and the safety clip should be replaced.
- After the spray is over, the physician should advise whether to continue the medication.
How to Clean:
If it is observed that the nasal tip is clogged, then hold the tip under warm running water for a minute and then dry it.
