Actor and comedian Terrence K.Williams suggested in a tweet that the apparent suicide of Jeffrey Epstein was somehow connected with Bill and Hilary Clinton. And on Saturday President Trump further further amplified this baseless conspiracy theory by retweeting it.
This comes as no great surprise as this is not the first time the President has amplified such baseless conspiracy theories. It won’t be wrong to say that such baseless accusations had been the sole reason of his political prominence. What about the campaign in which it was claimed that President Obama was not a born-American. Then again in the 2016 presidential campaign Trump suggested that Sen.Ted Cruz’s father was involved in John F.Kennedy’s assassination.
Besides making this baseless accusation of a possible connection between Epstein’s death and the Clintons, the actor had also falsely claimed that Epstein was on suicide watch.
According to the officials at the Metropolitan Correctional Center Epstein was under extra security after some injuries have been found on his neck. But the officials said that he was no longer suicide watch at the time of his death.
In response to Trump’s tweet Clinton’s press secretary, Angela Urena’ tweeted “Ridiculous, and of course not true — and Donald Trump knows it. Has he triggered the 25th Amendment yet?”
According to the Washington Post so far the Justice Department and the White House have not made any comments.
