Millionaire Sex Offender Jeffrey Epstein Commits Suicide

According to CNN New York the Multimillionaire investor and sex trafficker,Jeffery Epstein, has committed suicide. This has been confirmed by two law enforcement.

Due to a cardiac arrest the 66-year-old was taken from New York Correctional Center to an area hospital. But he did not survive and died.

Epstein was being treated in the medical unit of the detention center and was given a CPR. But around 6:40a.m. his condition deteriorated and he was taken to the hospital where he died.

Epstein has been charged with the sex trafficking of dozens of teenage girls and had been jailed since the start of July.

Several new charges of sexual abuse had come up against Epstein when news of his death came. Although Epstein’s attorney did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

After some marks had been detected on Epstein.s neck, resulting from an unsuccessful suicide attempt, he had been placed on a suicide-watch.

At that time the jail authorities were not clear whether the injuries were self-inflicted or the result of some attack. Epstein had also told the authorities that he had been attacked and called a child predator.

According to the Federal Prosecutors he used employees and associates to trap teenage girls and bring them to his place where he sexually abused them. Sometimes he used his victims to recruit other girls.

Federal prosecutors said he used employees and associates to lure the girls to his residences and then paid some of his victims to recruit other girls for him to abuse.
The multi-millionaire had been denied house arrest by the federal judge who had ordered him to remain in jail.Epstein faced similar accusations in Florida in 2007 but had avoided federal charges by signing a plea deal with the Miami prosecutors. Though the criminal charges won’t be pursued against him now but civil law-suits can be filed by the accusers who can demand money from his estate.
“(Epstein’s) estate, you can imagine, would be sued by a lot of potential victims. So, his suicide will not end coverage and the interest in the Jeffrey Epstein case,” Callan said.
